James Carville has an op-ed on advising President Obama to hit the panic button. I would like to contend it is every forward-thinking person on Earth, not just the President, that needs to rush to sound the alarm.

Hit that fucker like it's Hiroshima!

Carville, presumably taking time off from his “Tales from the Crypt” hosting duties, breaks it down. Carville- “Time for Obama to hit the panic button.”

We are far past sending out talking points. Do not attempt to dumb it down. We cannot stand any more explanations. Have you talked to any Democratic senators lately? I have. It’s pretty damn clear they are not happy campers.
This is what I would say to President Barack Obama: The time has come to demand a plan of action that requires a complete change from the direction you are headed.

“The Ragin’ Cajun” lays out some sound advice: “fire a lot of people”, “indict some wall street crooks”, and “stop letting bureaucrats do the talking and explaining for you”.

Fire a lot of people:

Mr. President, your hinge of fate must turn. Bill Clinton fired many people in 1994 and took a lot of heat for it. Reagan fired most of his campaign staff in 1980. Republicans historically fired their own speaker, Newt Gingrich. Bush fired Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld. For God’s sake, why are we still looking at the same political and economic advisers that got us into this mess? It’s not working.

Indict people:

There are certain people in American finance who haven’t been held responsible for utterly ruining the economic fabric of our country. Demand from the attorney general a clear status of the state of investigation concerning these extraordinary injustices imposed upon the American people. I know Attorney General Eric Holder is a close friend of yours, but if his explanations aren’t good, fire him too. Demand answers to why no one has been indicted.
Mr. President, people are livid. Tell [show] people that you, too, are angry and sickened by the irresponsible actions on Wall Street that caused so much suffering. Do not accept excuses. Demand action now.

Make the case:

While we are going along with the Republican austerity garbage, who is making the case against it? It’s not the Democrats! We are allowing the over-educated, over-explanatory bureaucrat by the name of (Congresssional Budget Office director Douglas) Elmendorf do all the talking. Do not let him make your case. Make your case and stick to it. Is it any wonder that we were doing better in the middle of the stimulus-spending period than we are doing with the austerity program? Stick to your rationale for what has happened and what is going to happen under your leadership. You must carry this through until the election (never say that things are improving because evidently they are not).

But it’s his final point that I really want to focus on.

As I watch the Republican debates, I realize that we are on the brink of a crazy person running our nation. I sit in front of the television and shudder at the thought of one of these creationism-loving, global-warming-denying, immigration-bashing, Social-Security-cutting, clean-air-hating, mortality-fascinated, Wall-Street-protecting Republicans running my country.

"And that ball... is... outta here!"

Obama, while probably not the best choice initially, is the only thing between the United States… and a President Rick Perry, with a heaping side helping of Vice President Michelle Bachmann.

Michelle Bachmann: The thinking person’s Sarah Palin.

If Jon Huntsman and Mitt Romney fail to bring the GOP back to the center and away from the fringes and win the nomination, there is a very real threat that some well meaning people who lean right are going to be joined at the polls in 2012 by millions of crazy racists and religious extremists who believe the President is a Foreign-born Muslim agent who’s ultimate goal is to undermine the U.S. constitution, impose Sharia law, enslave white people, and overall just destroy ‘Merica.

The end result of all this idiocy is the possibility of Dubya 2.0: Reloaded.
The far-right interest groups and the Republican National Committee have pulled off the greatest con-job since the Savings and Loan scandals of the 80’s: They have manipulated religious folk by the millions into thinking that because the GOP agrees with them on the social issues they feel strongly about, and happen to go to the same churches as they do, everything they say about all other facets of governance must also be correct. And if it isn’t… well, faggots getting marriage licenses, creationism being taught in schools, and defending one-tenth of one percent of the population from a tax increase are enough to overlook the real important issues and vote for them anyway!

It’s genius- in an Ernst Stavro Blofeld meets Darth Vader kinda way.

And we’ve already had 8 years of that.

And that brings me to my final thought.

Over the past few years, basically since the election, I have heard the terms “the savior” or “the messiah” thrown around as derogatory terms for Barack Obama.

Of course it’s the kind of hyperbole that, for the most part, is directed at those who believe the President can do no wrong. You know… mud-slinging done by the delusional party-line-towing extremist fuckheads who don’t have an objective bone in their body that are found on both sides of the political spectrum.

If you could convert my rage into electricity, then me staring at a picture of this cunt could power Vegas for a few months.

But as I continue to take a good hard look at these candidates who plan on challenging the President… I truly believe that if Rick Perry becomes the nominee, which is a serious and scary fucking thought, President Obama actually will be my and many other Americans only hope of avoiding Armageddon. He is, for all intents and purposes, a savior. As in: The only person saving us from becoming a theocracy run by yet another delusional religious extremist fuckwad governor from Texas.
I and many others will be forced to vote for Obama out of the sheer fear. Instead of Obama… we could end up with a guy who holds a public prayer service to pray for rain and uses public funds and property to organize a ‘pray for our nation’ rally down the street from a donation center where twice as many people were lining up for free school supplies.

In closing… I really fucking hope this guy does not get the nomination.

I’d rather the Right be forced to vote for someone moderately intelligent with respect for science, academics, and diplomacy for a change- such as Jon Huntsman, or Mitt Romney – because I know that if Obama hasn’t impressed me and many others in the center in the next 2 years, the country can vote for those guys and we won’t have The United States Of Jesusland, where freedom of religion is supreme- as long as the religion involves Christianity, and the textbooks in our nation’s schools teach evolution as “that crackpot theory where retarded mutant frog fish eventually become monkeys who eventually become Democrats” and history class describes the Crusades as cavemen riding dinosaurs to the gates of Jerusalem to drive Al Qaeda out.

This is a real page from a real coloring book. I wish that wasn't true.
And, yes, that is a real page from a Biblical coloring book. Or, as Texas Governor and Presidential hopeful Rick Perry would call it, “A book about natural history.”
